About the Professional Graduate Examination
Candidates may take the Professional Graduate Diploma EITHER by written examination plus Professional Graduate Diploma Project OR by submission of a dissertation.
Professional Graduate Diploma by Examination
The Examination will consist of a three hour written paper on each of four modules chosen from a list of specialist options. The list of options is given in the Syllabus and is kept under review by the BCS.
Professional Graduate Diploma by Dissertation
In place of the Professional Graduate Diploma examination and the Professional Graduate Diploma Project, a candidate may submit a dissertation on a topic which has been agreed by the BCS. The Dissertation must be an individual report. Two or more people may work on the same project, provided it is of sufficient size, but each candidate must individually satisfy the regulations and the Dissertation must clearly identify the candidate's individual contribution. The Professional Graduate Diploma is examined to the academic level of a university honours degree.
