MBA -- Who is it for?
The program specifically targets individuals directly involved in the management of their company affairs or who are willing to join one as their career. Their learning shall be directly applicable in their work environments as our faculty comes from leading business organizations with an extremely practical approach. The theory is used as a foundation work for building the overall structure of a leader, the ultimate aim of this MBA program.
Eligibility Requirements
English proficiency - You must have a sufficiently high standard of English language to enable you to cope with the course. Students who have completed their last degree where medium of instruction was English are easily able to complete the program. There is no specific requirement of IELTS or TOEFL examination.
Academic criteria - As a guide, for Master of Business Administration degree level study, applicants will need to have the equivalent of:
- Candidates holding at least a three years Bachelor's degree.
- Senior executives, teachers or business leaders without the above-mentioned qualifications but with substantial senior management experience in business or related industry may be considered by the Institute on a case-by-case basis.
Curriculum
MBA program curriculum addresses both the functional and conceptual aspects of business. The courses focusing on business concepts discuss issues being faced by companies trying to survive and thrive in today's global economy. Such issues include productivity, international competition, and interactive aspects of an organization's internal and external environments. The curriculum undergoes continual review and evaluation and is consequently modified to reflect the ever-changing business environment. The courses are sequenced to build upon one another and complement workplace experiences and backgrounds. The program is geared to equip the participants with strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities and also provides a strategic understanding of the role of information and communication technologies in business.
The curriculum comprises of following courses to be completed in 16 months in four semesters. Students are required to complete twelve core courses and four specialization courses with an option of replacing two courses with one two term project / thesis / dissertation.
MBA -- Project / Thesis / Dissertation
Students are encouraged to work on real world work related topics. Upon approval, students will then proceed to commence work on the scope of the topic and to fulfil other requirements. In case of a thesis or a dissertation, it should not exceed 20,000 words in length. Students may be required to take an oral exam at the discretion of their supervisor.
